Fabric Pahang believed to be from Riau or Sulawesi that has introduced by a Bugis known as Tuk Tuan (Keraing Aji) to Pahang in the 16th century.

Pahang Weaving Fabric has been a part of Malaysian culture which is used mainly in official ceremonies. Royal Pahang Weaving produced according to traditional methods to preserve the art and get praise and attention from the traditional lovers.

Fabric Pahang which is normally used for sarongs, sampin and scarf, is now applied in modern fashion design in line with the latest trend. It is also used by local fashion designers and abroad, especially for government functions, weddings and customs Royal

Starting from 1995 up to now PKNP has taken the initiative to develop and redevelop the Royal Pahang Weaving to ensure Fabrics Royal Pahang always remains as the Pahang Heritage Art.

Today, the complex weave of Royal Pahang Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Kampung Soi, Kuantan is PKNP efforts to improve production and product quality as well as upholding the Royal Pahang Weaving in the international fashion arena.
