Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin
Dr. Mohd Uzir Mahidin attained his PhD in Economics from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. Currently, he is the Chief Statistician of Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM). He has served the Department of Statistics Malaysia for the past 27 years since his first posting as a Statistician in 1990. Over the years, he served various divisions, namely National Accounts, External Foreign and Trade Statistics, Industrial Production & Construction, Services Division and his previous appointment was the Deputy Chief Statistician (Programme Social/Demographic). He is an active member of various global expert groups and international associations, such as the UNWTO Tourism Statistics, Expert Group on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (ESCAP), Executive Committee (Exco) International Association for Official Statistics (IAOS), ASEAN Secretariat on SNA Statistics, ISI-South East Asia Network and Regional Programme on Economic Statistics. Recently, he had become a member of High Level Group for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity-Building for Monitoring Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the ASEAN Community Statistical System (ACSS). He is also the Exco member of Institute Statistics Malaysia (ISM) and the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee of ISI World Statistics Congress 2019 whereby Malaysia will be the host. Till date he has presented various papers in distinguished conferences. Besides being a learned person, he is also very active in sports and social activities such as involved in Parent-School Consultation Program Sheffield, UK.
Prof Dr Basuki Widodo
Prof. Dr. Basuki Widodo acquired his PhD in Applied Mathematics from Leeds University, United Kingdom in 2000. He is the Professor of Mathematical Modeling and Simulation at the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya, Indonesia. He is also appointed as the Dean of Faculty of Mathematics and Science (FMIPA), a member of ITS Advisory Council, Chief of Mathematics Department (ITS Advisory Commision) and the Chief of Indonesian Mathematical Society for East Java. His specialization includes computational fluid dynamics, mathematical modeling, numerical methods, numerical simulation and applied mathematics from which he has published over 33 journals, 45 national and international proceedings, and also 2 books in pest population analysis and mathematical modeling.
Mr Nor Azmi Abdul Rahim
Mr. Nor Azmi Abdul Rahim obtained his BSc in Industrial Engineering from Wichita State University, USA in 1988. Currently, he is a Senior Consultant of Creative Vision Sdn. Bhd. He is well versed in strategic plan development, strategic business turn-around initiative, multidiscipline management systems installation and management competency development, for which he has served various goverment agencies, local conglomerates, and multi-national organizations. Some of his major clients include most private and public universities, Petronas Group, DRB Hicom Group, KPJ Group, SESCO Group, Intel, Goodyear, Freescale, Samsung, Sharp, Panasonic, Toshiba, Sony, Denso and etc. He is certified lead auditor for QMS ISO 9000, EMS ISO 14000 and ISO QMS (Automotive) TS 16949. He is also an auditor for TPM (Total Productivity Management), VSM (Value Stream Mapping) and Advances 5S.
Prof Dr Abdul Ghapor Hussin
Prof. Dr. Abdul Ghapor Hussin completed his PhD in Statistics from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom in 1998. Currently, he is a Professor at the Faculty of Defence Science and Technology, National Defence University of Malaysia. He is also the Director of the Centre for Academic Development, National Defence University of Malaysia. He is appointed as the President of Islamic Countries Society of Statistical Sciences (ISOSS) from 2014 until 2016. He specializes in Statistics especially in the directional or circular statistics and Error in Variable Models (EIVM) from which he has published 59 journals, 18 proceeding papers as well as 3 books in pre-university Mathematics.
Dr Subiono received his PhD in Mathematics from the Delft University of Technology, Netherlands in 2000. For the time being, he is a Mathematics lecturer at the Jurusan Matematika, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember. His research interests are the min-max plus algebra, and supertropical algebra. He has published over 40 journals especially in min-max plus sytem and its application such as production scheduling and shortest path problem.
